"Kidman, the Porn, and the Mad Director" by Paul Bettany

Continuando numa de Dogville, leiam só um excerto de um artigo escrito por um dos actores desta trama insana sobre o realizador Lars Von Trier que tem a estranha mania que todos os filmes que faz são uma comédia. É de fartar de rir... ou pode ser só assustador... o_O;;

 

The first time I met Lars von Trier, he picked me up from the airport in a camper van. We were driving through Sweden and it was snowing and we stopped for petrol. And he said, in that strangulated Danish accent of his, "Paul, would you like any porn?"
I went, "What?"
He said, "Would you like any pornography?"
"No, you're all right, Lars," I said. "You're OK."
So then Lars proceeds to sweep the entire top shelf of pornography, a stack a few inches deep. He pays for it, we get back in the camper van and the rest of the journey goes by. We arrive at my hotel and we are talking about his new film, Dogville, which we are about to start working on. After about two hours, there is a knock at the door and Nicole Kidman, who is playing Grace in the movie, comes in. I'm this kid from Harlesden and here's Nicole Kidman, so I'm understandably a little nervous.
Lars says, "Oh, hi, Nicole, this is Paul. Paul, this is Nicole. You must talk among yourselves because I have to make a phonecall. Nicole! Look at Paul's enormous stack of porn!"
So Lars leaves and I'm reduced to a 13-year-old pleading, "It's not my porn! It's not my porn!" Finally, I manage to convince her that it is indeed not my porn, and we're talking about the film when I hear this noise at the window. I go over an dlook down. It's snowing and there's Lars von Trier hanging from the fire escape by his fingertips listening to our conversation.
So I go, "You all right, Lars?"
"Yes. No. It's very cold."
"Yeah, it's snowing. Do you want to come in?"
And he goes, "Yes."
That's how my experience on Dogville began. After that, it just got weirder.
